Health Insurance Information

Description
The Health Insurance Information Program assists seniors at no cost with Medicare, Medicaid, and Medigap Insurance paperwork.  Volunteers work with clients in the strictest confidence helping them understand regulations and coverage.

Volunteer Opportunities
Health Insurance Information Volunteer  Meet with clients at their homes two or three times a month to explain medical statements and give information about Medicare, Medicaid, and supplementary insurance regulations and coverage.

Volunteer Requirements
*  At least 21years of age.

Training & Support

Prior to the commencement of volunteer work, volunteers must attend an orientation and a 2.5-day training to learn about Medicare, Medicaid, long term care insurance and supplementary insurance regulations and coverage.  Thereafter, quarterly trainings in these areas are offered to update volunteers on latest legal and regulatory developments and issues.
