Services Master Gardener Program
Description
The purpose of the Master Gardener Program is to equip volunteers
with the necessary horticultural skills and knowledge to enable them to assist
others with gardening information and act as educators in the community.

Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers are utilized to work with professional horticulturists
to provide information and expertise on all phases of horticulture and gardening.
Volunteer Requirements
- Must be willing to donate 40 hours of service
- Must agree not to seek commercial gain from the title
- Must reside in Salt Lake County
Training & Support
Volunteers accepted into the program attend a 16-week training
program on basic gardening, and then supplement their education with on-going
monthly training meetings on specific issues, such as soils and irrigation.
Volunteers must also complete 40 hours of field work which may include working
at an experimental garden, participating in the speaker's bureau, or assisting
with Extension Services events such as county or state fairs.
