Foster Grandparents
http://www.aging.slco.org
Description
Foster Grandparents are matched with children and youth who have special needs.
They act as the youngsters' friends, confidantes and tutors lending them a listening
ear and an understanding heart. They help their "grandchildren"
develop better self-esteem and encourage them to excel in school, and serve
as positive adult role models. Foster Grandparents work with children
in a variety of settings, such as schools, hospitals, detention and youth centers.
