Brighten the holidays of someone less fortunate than yourself this year.
Support The Arc of Utah Holiday Gift Box Program
The Arc of Utah Holiday Gift Box Program provides meaningful gifts to
people with intellectual disabilities who would not otherwise have the
opportunity to enjoy the season. We
serve individuals with traumatic brain injury, developmental and
intellectual disabilities. (Many
are adults with the intellectual age of a child and many still even
believe in the magic of Santa Clause).
The requests for gifts are often simple items such as sweats,
shampoo, and bed linens:THINGS
YOU AND I OFTEN TAKE FOR GRANTED!! Last
year, The Arc of Utah Gift Box program
served about 200 individuals with traumatic brain injury,
intellectual or developmental disabilities. It is The Arc of Utah’s
goal to exceed that number this year
What Can YOU do?
- 1) Sponsor an individual (or multiple individuals) at $50 per person by either donating the money to
The Arc to buy the gifts, or by purchasing the gifts yourself and
bringing them to The Arc for delivery.
- 2) Monetary donation towards The Arc of Utah’s many programs, including the Holiday
Gift Box Program by cash, check, or credit card
155 South 300 West Suite 201
Salt Lake City, Utah 84101
801 364-5060
www.arcutah.org
- 3) Sponsor several individuals by taking their gift request ornaments and hanging them on a
tree in your place of employment for co-workers to take. Look at the
Gift Box link on the website: www.arcutah.org
to see samples
- 4) Put a donation jar into your business for people to donate their cash and
checks.
- 5) Talk to your
family and friends about being involved with this great program.
Most people have been affected in some
way by knowing a person with a disability.
This is definitely one of the most rewarding ways that you can be a part of The
Arc of Utah’s mission to empower people with disabilities and their families!
Contact Emily Flinkstrom at Emily@arcutah.org or 1-801-364-5060 ext.18 for more
information and to be a part of this program. Emily is available to speak to your churches, co-workers,
family and friends about The Arc and the Holiday Gift Box Program.
All donations to The
Arc of Utah are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law, consider
making an ongoing monthly donation that will support programs throughout the year.
Thank you for your continued generosity.

"Project Blanket" Blankets for the Homeless
"The Road Home,"
shelters approximately 800 people each night form Nov. 1 to April 1, and
uses almost 10,000 blankets to cope with the winter weather. Frequent washing
and a harsh environment take a toll the blankets. The shelter depends
on annual drives like ours to fulfill the need. Project Blanket was
initiated eight years ago by a few discussing homelessness at a social
gathering. Now it is a tradition. Each year The Road Home gets 400 to 600
wool blankets through the generosity of the many supporters of Project
Blanket.
We attribute your generosity for nine successful years. Project Blanket is
simply a human appeal -- "ONE BLANKET -- ONE WARM BODY -- ONE LIFE
SAVED." Each blanket costs approximately $15. 100% of your
contribution goes to purchase the blankets.
Make a check payable to "The Road
Home - Project Blanket" and mail a check to:
Sinha’s 851 East Norhtcrest Drive Salt Lake City, Utah 84013
Many thanks,
Krishnna and Arati Sinha

We need help from anyone who can work from
home and assist us in making
blankets and hug-a-bears. This is a great year long project for groups
or individuals. Work at you own speed, and make as many or as few as
you want. If needed, we will help with the costs of the
material, pick up, or help with shipping charges. We will give instructions on
what is required for making of the bears. Blankets can be any size,
but we have one group making crib blankets all year long,
so we prefer full or larger sizes. We give the bears and
blankets out during our Saturday with Santa
event in December to children with cancer,
diabetes and trauma. We also give them out during
the year as groups request or need them.
Thanks for your consideration. Butch Jentzsch Karing for Utah Kids, www.utahkids.org

Salt Lake County Animal Services
is in great need of small cat quilts. The size should be 18 to 24
inches square. They can be tied quilts, fleece blankets or any other
blanket. These quilts are given with cats who are adopted from the shelter
through the SLCo pet adoption program. Currently, our adoption program is
in need of a fun, festive give-away with each cat adoption especially to
promote Christmas cat adoptions. Of course it would be wonderful to have
them all year round in hopes of generating interest when our media
spokesperson, Temma Martin, has a cat featured as the "Pet of the
Week". She is actively promoting pet adoptions on four
television stations and the Salt Lake Tribune "Pet of the Week".
Fun and Festive collar "scrunchies" would also be a nice donation.
This is a great opportunity to use your sewing skills and creativity to
help animals and the people who adopt them.
Donations can be made directly to Animal Services on 3900 South and 500 West
Contact Michelle Walk at Animal Services. She can also
schedule a tour of the shelter and animals when you bring your donations.
