Description
Criminal Justice Services (CJS) is Continually looking for qualified
volunteers and interns. Our goal is to provide an experience that is both
rewarding and challenging.
CJS is committed to providing the citizens of Salt Lake
County with innovative and effective alternatives to incarceration. This is
achieved by striving for balance of jail release, appropriate levels of
supervision, client education, and core competence development,
substance abuse and treatment services and offering accountability. This
proactive approach to criminal justice issues reflects our commitment to
crime reduction, tax savings, and the safety of Salt Lake County Citizens.

*Maintaining case files on probationers *Monitoring

*Conducting Research *Attending
designated meeting and assisting as clerical support
There are volunteer and internship opportunities in all areas of Criminal Justice:
*Administration
*Court and Treatment Services
*Pre-Trial Services
*Probation Services and Prisoner Services

* 18 years or older
* Pass background check
*Volunteers commit to a minimum of six months and should plan to work a
minimum of few hours a week although hours may be flexible depending on the
job.
* Interns must commit to a minimum of 112 hours during one full
semester and are asked to work a minimum of 8-10 hours per week.
Training & Support
While we seek out volunteers and interns that fit the skill set of the job,
on the job training will be provided.
